The 2025 and 2023 elections in Argentina not only determined authorities but also exposed a deep relationship between party voting and socioeconomic, demographic, and security factors at the departmental level. Understanding these correlations is essential for formulating hypotheses about the support bases of the main political forces.
At Infodash, we developed an interactive dashboard that cross-references the 2025 and 2023 electoral results with various demographic, employment, economic, and security variables from the 2022 Census, the Permanent Household Survey, and the National Criminal Information System, facilitating an in-depth analysis of voting determinants at the geographic level. The tool allows users to explore the relationships between the percentage of votes obtained by each coalition and different variables.
Looking at the median age, for example, it shows a clear positive correlation with the 2023 General Election vote for Juntos por el Cambio, while this correlation is negative for Union por la Patria and La Libertad Avanza. A similar pattern is observed when looking at the percentage of population with a completed university degree by department. Furthermore, the dashboard not only shows the determinants of the General Elections but also allows analysis of what happened in the 2023 Runoff and in 2025 in the absence of Juntos por el Cambio. As with many indicators, in these two cited examples, the correlation slope of La Libertad Avanza merges with that of Juntos por el Cambio while Union por la Patria's remains constant.
