If we had to choose one word to summarize the year 2020, the two candidates would undoubtedly be "pandemic" or "coronavirus." In recent months, various measures have been discussed and implemented to address the consequences of COVID-19, and in light of this, the need for accurate and up-to-date information becomes essential.
At Infodash we use information published by the National Directorate of Epidemiology and Health Situation Analysis, updated and managed by the Argentine Ministry of Health. The dashboards allow you to explore the evolution of daily cases and the fatality rate since March 2020 by gender and age group, as well as consult the epidemiological situation by province and/or department.
For example, in the second tab of the dashboard we can see not only the number of confirmed and suspected cases, but also discarded cases, which constitutes a good measure of the number of tests and the positivity rate by province. In this case, the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires stands out in the latest period, with a significant increase in the number of discarded cases in 2021, which translates into a lower positivity rate compared to previous months. Naturally, the situation is very dynamic and changing, so what is observed in early April 2021 should not be taken as a stylized fact but rather as a specific situation for a given period of time.
