Much is said about the values, ideals, and habits of new generations, particularly young people, but this almost always occurs from an external perspective. Rarely are discussions about youth based on responses and opinions that come from the protagonists themselves.

On this occasion, at Infodash we systematized and organized the information collected by Argentina's Ministry of Health through its participation in the Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS), designed by the World Health Organization. This tool was designed in the 1990s and is currently implemented by more than 100 countries, with the aim of detecting the main issues faced by adolescents between 13 and 17 years old.

The GSHS investigates behaviors related to alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and other drug use, physical violence, bullying, mental health, physical activity, and sexual and dietary behaviors, among other topics. The dashboards -- a total of five covering the main categories -- allow differentiating statistics by gender, age, parental education level, and nutritional status.

In the "Main Issues" tab, we can observe that around 25% of adolescents between 13 and 17 years old have participated in some physical fight, but what becomes even clearer is that this tendency increases as the adolescent is more subjected to abuse at home. On the other hand, 32% have been (and are) victims of bullying, and this does not appear to correlate with parental education level, something that does occur with actual suicide attempts: while 19.3% of those with parents who have incomplete primary education report having had actual suicide attempts, the number drops to 12% for those with parents who completed tertiary or university education.

There are numerous relationships to investigate and address, particularly very strong correlations between adolescents' responses regarding their issues and the situation at home in terms of nutrition, parental education, and physical abuse.
